Approval of minutes from September meeting
Principal’s Report
Fall Fun Day was “a blast”
PTO was thanked for covering the cost of the 6th grade trust
course trip
4th grade trip to New Salem went well
Parent-Teacher Conferences will be November 6, 8, and 9
Veteran’s Day Program will be November 7 at 2:30 pm
Red Ribbon Week is October 22-26 with “You’ve Got Character”
assembly at
1:30 on 10/24
Treasurer’s Report
Bill from fundraiser arrived
Playground Debt
Fundraiser is very important in helping us pay
off the debt
Bricks to line eventual sidewalk. Heather
Archey, George Backstein, Christy Crites, and Christine McDevitt formed brick
committee and will report back to us in November
Box Tops
Angi Resch has volunteers trimming and counting box tops
Pizza Party will be arranged with winning teacher
Flavored water/juice boxes instead of soda!!!!!!!!!!
Amy Talkington will look into possibility of collecting soda
pop tabs
Book Fair
Very successful book fair with current profit at $6079,
before Scholastic bill
Will take the profit in the form of Scholastic dollars
Fall Fun Party
Melissa Bandixen did great job coordinating volunteers and
had more than
enough
Red Ribbon Week
Everything is paid for by PTO
Parent-Teacher Conferences
PTO will provide pies on the 6th, snacks on the 8th (changed
from original plan), and lunch on the 9th
Prime Time Reading Night
November 30, chaired by Melissa Bandixen and Shannon
Mikesell
Possible Literary performance
Dinner or Snacks will be served
Winter Carnival
February 1st
Possible wing designated for all things that require money
Book fair, basket raffles, silent auction, etc.
Poster Contest held again
Angie Golden will run contest and design backdrop for photo
booth
Nancy Harpring has 2 ipads to use in photo booth
Prizes will consist of ipad, ipod touches, gift cards, etc.
Classroom baskets will be at teachers’ decisions, collect
$4/student for them
Only workers and children of workers will be allowed at
school between 3:30-
5:00, t-shirts for all volunteers
