RIS PTO Meeting re: Winter Carnival

January 22, 2013

                I.              Welcome & Introductions:

Those in attendance: Theresa Gegan, Heather Archey, Heidi Ramsey, Amy Talkington, Sally Cray, Angi Resch, Christy Crites, Melissa Bandixen, Kim Matrichs
               
II.                   Winter Carnival

§          Snack Bar – Kim Matrichs:  Have Purchased 10 cases of water, 10 cases of Gatorade, 3 c animal crackers, 4 c goldfish, 2 c pretzels, 4 c fruit snacks.  A total cost of $______.  Sell everything at 50cents, any profit to go toward the playground debt.  Kim has some volunteers set up looking for maybe 2 more.  Possible will have a few jr hi students/siblings on hand to help.  Kim will be making posters to advertise.
§          Registration & Raffles - Sally Cray: Registration going smoothly.  Already have some in.  Deadline must be kept FIRM!  Monday 1/28 @ noon. 
§          Poster Contest – Angi Resch:  Mrs. Anderson & Ms. Golden working on it.  Resch, Bandixen and Archey set to judge.
§          Canisters for Raffle – We have them here at the school.
§          Cake Walk – Angi Resch:  Making new signs, having them laminated for longevity.  Still needs donations.  To put out a request on “Who’s your teacher” & possibly facebook.
§          DJ – Gegan:  Runs itself!
§          Dan the Popcorn Man – Set!
§          Slushies:  Set!  Selling at 50 cents ea.  Signs in storage.  Need cups and juice, set to be picked up before event.
§          Quit Room – Asking Amy Bruno to monitor.
§          Class Room Basket Raffle – Amy Talkington:  Has volunteers, needs canisters, Bins are here.  Tickets will be here.
§          Big Orange Raffle – Sally Cray:  Need new containers –10, Sally will look at the dollar store and find something.
§          Photo Booth – Christy Crites:  Ms. Golden in on top of the backdrop.  Set to be in the tech lab.  Need volunteers at the door to make sure no drinks come in.
§          Market Place:  Football Moms, Scarves, Student Council candy sales, any of Neil’s sales and Book Fair.
§          Book Fair:  Staying in the classroom.  Volunteers set.
§          Games & Face Painting – Theresa Gegan:  We have NEW inflatables.  Neil operates them, he would prefer no face paint, but not a deal breaker,  Need MORE volunteers for inflatables.
Boo Crew to do face painting, will provide their own volunteers.  We would like to give them a donation – all present agreed.  Denise Kaufman is doing the games.  Very experienced with this, already has help.
§          Registered (Paid) Students will receive 10 tickets for Big Orange Raffle, already in for the big draws: ipad and ipods, other raffle tickets will be $1 each or 6 for $5.
§          Judy’s Treasure Chest to stay under the stairs.
§          Brick info to set up a table under display case?  TBD
§          QR Codes Cheryl Flynn finished them, Heather Archey to finish up details.
