RIS PTO Meeting
January 11, 2011
I. Principal’s Report: Mrs. Lundin
Mrs. Lundin reported that being at the new school is going well. The building overall is really quiet. The students have all been talking about how to be thankful and appreciative for what the community has provided for them and also how they show pride for their new building. The kids have been very excited! Mrs. Lundin also reported on some upcoming events. These included Snow flurry, and Ames web screening. ISAT’s will be the last week of February. There will not be a writing test this year.
II. Treasurer’s Report: Sally Cray
Sally reported that Winter Carnival went pretty well. There was only a loss of $40. The overall process went really well. Sally reported an ending checkbook balance of $37,809.95
III. Box tops: Heather Archey
Heather reported that we just received a check for $2900.90 from previous box tops. We will be doing another blitz in order to mail off the box tops by the February 28th deadline.
IV. Friday Night Prime Time Reading:
Friday Night Prime Time will be held at the new intermediate school in the gym and cafeteria. There will be a charge of $3 to cover the cost of the pizza. The book fair will be open during this time.
V. Winter Book Fair:
The winter book fair will take place from January 31st until February 4th. There will be a parent event at the Prime Time Reading night on February 4th. The book fair will be located in the front foyer of the school.
VI. Teacher Appreciation:
Ideas were discussed about what to do during the week of ISAT’s and the week of teacher appreciation.
