RIS PTO Meeting
November 1, 2011
I. Welcome & Introductions: Theresa Gegan
Those in attendance: Theresa Gegan, Heather Archey, Angi Resch, Heidi Ramsey, Amy Talkington, Christy Crites, Chris Mahnich, Julie Pfeifer, Julie Tinder, Nancy Wellbaum, Mike Lezon
The minutes from the last meeting were approved.
II. Principal’s Report: Mike Lezon
Red Ribbon Week was very successful; Students received pencils, red ribbons, and stickers. St. Louis Cardinals participated, “Fred Bird” and “Smokey” Joe Cunningham, a player from the 50’s/60’s came to the school. The kids loved it. PBIS, an end of quarter party used as positive reinforcement, teacher karaoke was a hit. Next Week conferences, No school Thursday, Friday or Monday. Veterans Assembly next Wednesday (11/9). Sixth grade is going to Lincoln Memorial & Lincoln Memorial Gardens , and the sixth grade Greek and Roman Olympics are next week
III. Treasurer’s Report: Theresa Gegen
We paid our first installment for the playground. We are 1/3 of the way there. Limo lunch went very well.
IV. President’s Remarks: Theresa Gegen
Friday Night Prime Time, Heather Archey, Angi Resch & Melissa Bandixen agreed to co-chair. All in attendance agreed to keep the admission fee at $3, more for a headcount and commitment. Prizes are to be scholastic dollars and bookmarks. Teacher Appreciation, Angi Resch to provide food Tuesday, Theresa Gegan to order lunch for Thursday. Winter Carnival, meal 5:00-, carnival 6-8, inflatables are reserved, “Dan the Popcorn Man” is reserved, trying to work out details for a photo booth, Cake Walk chaired by Angi Resch, Book Fair co chaired by Heidi Ramsey and Amy Talkington, Classroom Basket Lottery chaired by Amy Talkington, Silent Auction chaired by Sally Cray. Games discussed were “minute to win it” and “are you smarter than a 5th grader?”. Registration is covered, volunteer check in is covered. Future planning meeting TBA.
