15). Books to be donated to local
shelters. Boys basketball is finishing
up, one more game. Volleyball is going

III.
Treasurer’s
Report: Sally Cray
Made
a profit of $1700 from Winter Carnival.
This is not usually meant to be a fundraiser, in the past we have added
prizes this year any profit will go directly to the playground debt. We still owe a large chunk to the
district.
V. Ongoing Business:
Budget Cuts: Polly Schrader & Gerri Schienschang
– Kids came
home very upset with the idea of 6th grade sports being cut next
year. Is there an option for parents to
coach or pay more? Mrs. Sanders
responded we have no control over it.
Board makes the final decision.
They will be meeting next Tuesday night at 6:30 at RIS cafeteria. Mrs. Sanders invited all to come out and
voice concerns & ideas. Mike Lezon
added, 3 years ago 6th grade sports were on the table to be cut and
they were not, fees were raised. Anyone
can go to the district website and click on “Board” and email them. The whole list of potential cuts is on the
website.
TAW & ISATS’S: Mrs. Sanders approved the PTO
to do something for the teachers each day during ISAT’S and 2 days for
TAW. ISAT week Tuesday – breakfast, Angi
Resch and Melissa Bandixen to make something and Heidi Ramsey to bring
fruit. Wednesday – Lunch (something
other than subs) Student Council already
doing lunch Thursday.
Boxtops: Angi Resch collection just ended Friday 1/8. PTO offered to stock snacks for Nancy
Harprings kids for helping us cut, sort and count. Last check we got from Boxtops was
$1830.00. We will owe “Good Shepard”
$250.00 for their contribution.
Field Day: M. Lezon
Use
character counts money to do an ice cream social. Ice Deli came and made snow cones for each
kid. It was agreed by all to do this
again.
Winter Carnival: Theresa Gegan Went very smooth. Possibly the best one yet. Spread out, we had room to move. Seemed less crowded and conjested. No big complaints. No major issues. Archey: 24 gallons of juice for the
slushies is not enough. Mrs. Sanders
said there were to her knowledge no issues with blue juice staining
anything. 3 machines worked great, there
were no large lines. Crites: Photo booth went great. Printed about 160 prints. Back drop was beautiful, thank you to Mrs.
Golden. Some don’t seem to know about
it. Possibly use the elevator next year?
Gegan/Cray: We will not be using
Greco Graphics for tees next year, we will be going back to “American”. Notes
for next year: Do NOT have a
“Marketplace”. Get back to what we
started, just a fun (almost free) night.
Student Council with suckers & Puckers, & smencils, book fair,
Judy’s treasure chest, face painting to stay.
Go back to silent auction. IF
Neil is selling stuff, keep it to hats and glasses. Next year, NO POPCORN in the band room. There was too much food and drink on the
floor. Clean up took a while. More signs!!!
Cake walk – NO ADULTS!!! More
signs for this as well. Mike Lezon:
Thanks for the help with clean up. Clean
up time was cut in half, several volunteers and kids stayed to help out.
