RIS PTO Meeting
March 13, 2012
Welcome &
Introductions:
Those in attendance: Laurie Lundin, Theresa Gegen, Heather
Archey, Sally Cray, Angi Resch, Heidi Ramsey, Nancy Harpring, George Backstein
The minutes from the last meeting were approved.
Principal’s Report: Laurie Lundin
Regarding the sidewalk to the playground, still waiting to
hear back from the contact.
RUBE at Lanphier, Julie Tinder took her accelerated math
class, got 1st place. Put them into state at Champaign . Did not place, but did well. Unanimously
approved that PTO to host an ice cream party for them. ISAT testing is done. Went well. All worked hard. Talent Show went well. Kids did a great job! Spring Break coming up next week. Coming the the district: Google Chrome book eventually in the hand of every student. Next
year 2 classrooms per grade level, within 3 years – every student. Kathy Sanders will be the new principal.
Treasurer’s Report: Sally Cray
Current Balance - $18,000.00.
President’s Report : Theresa Gegen
ISAT Breakfast and snacks went great. FPS is requesting more money. The board unanimously agreed
to go up to $800.00, next year back to $500.00. If more money is needed, they
will go to Lundin, per Lundin.
Scholastic wish list went out to all teachers. Each received
$150.00 to spend on scholastic catalog with scholastic dollars. We will put in
an order each weekend until it is done. In addition each team received $150.00. PTO needs to send out some kind of notice (postcard?) to the
4th grade and rising 4th grade parents to come and get involved with PTO. Approved
by all!
Other Business:
George recommended some kind of Dunk the teachers/principal,
for school spirit.
Girls on the Run, PTO to give a flat $200.00. Approved
Unanimously.
