The minutes from the last meeting were approved.
Principal’s Report: Laurie Lundin
4/17 - Open House - PTO to arrive @ 6pm.
4/20 - 4th grade Earth Day Production
4/30 - 6th grade Student/Parent Orientation at Jr. high
5/2 - 4th grade
Stewardship Earth Day field trip
5/4 - 4th grade Snowflurry
TAW
5/22 - 6th grade Awards Assembly
5/23 - 1:50 dismissal - All School Party in the afternoon.
5/24 - Teachers Institute
5/25 - Report Cards - Dismissal 8:30 am
Mrs. Connie Cranford, W/ Girl Scout Troop # 6582 gave RIS
$600.00 to go toward the playground. PTO board voted for a Round Picnic Table. At a cost of 988.00 + S&H. PTO to buy 2 additional tables to allow for an
entire class to be able to be seated at a given time. Lundin to put in the order.
Still waiting to hear back from our concrete guy re:
sidewalk to playground.
Treasurer’s Report: Sally Cray
Not a lot of activity. Normal
for this time of year.
Current balance as of 3/13/12, $17,148.88.
PTO paying $200 to Girls on the Run.
Deciding a next meeting on how much to pay to the district
for the playground.
Next year we need to allocate more funds to the 6th grade
Snow Flurry to accommodate the more than 200 rising 6th graders.
President’s Report : Theresa Gegen
Scholastic Dollars – About 15 teachers so far have put in
their order.
Ongoing Business:
FPS went to regionals, 2 teams qualified to go to state. Lundin to arrange to pay for rooms.
Proposed Calendar – Lundin. Current officers to remain the same. Gegen to send out postcards to current 3rd and
4th grade parents to join and consider a future leadership role.
Official calendar to come out on Thursday.
New Family Cookout tentatively 8/14. Last year PTO met following cookout agreed to
do the same this year.
Teacher Appreciation Week:
May 7-11
Monday - Scoopables, snacks
Tuesday - Breakfast provided by PTO. Amy to bring
fruit, Angie other food
Wednesday - Student Council is doing lunch
Thursday - Notes and treats to teachers from kids
Friday - PTO luncheon & special treat.
PTO will do 2 lunches; 1 day - treats on call.
Playground Update: Heather Archey:
Spoke w/ Don – Rebounce is out, Wheel is in. Works great.
